
Godard Recalled By Islanders

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Right Wing Eric Godard by the Islanders. The Islanders can clinch a berth in the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs with a win over the New York Rangers tonight on Long Island.
Godard has 43 penalty minutes in 16 games with the Islanders, as well as two goals, two assists, four points and a team-leading 189 penalty minutes in 46 games with the Sound Tigers this season.
The Sound Tigers will host the Hamilton Bulldogs tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. It will be the first meeting between the teams at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard since game seven of last year's Eastern Conference Finals which the Sound Tigers won when Raffi Torres broke a scoreless tie with 1:27 left in the third period. Torres will make his first appearance as a Bulldog in Bridgeport tomorrow. Torres was traded by the Islanders to the NHL's Edmonton Oilers at the League's trade deadline on March 11th. Edmonton then assigned him to Hamilton.
Starting tomorrow, all Sound Tigers' games will be broadcast live on "News/Talk 960" WELI-AM. All games will also continue to be web cast at www.soundtigers.com while WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM will continue to broadcast road games.
