
Griffins Begin Calder Cup Chase on April 16

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Monday announced their first three home dates for the 2003 Calder Cup playoffs.
The Griffins, who currently possess the number-one playoff seed in the Western Conference, will host game one of the best-of-five conference quarterfinals on Wednesday, April 16 at 7 p.m., followed by game two on Friday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. If necessary, game five would also be played at Van Andel Arena on Wednesday, April 23 at 7 p.m.
Grand Rapids' quarterfinal opponent, as well as the dates for games three and four on the road, are yet to be determined. The Griffins will begin their quest for the Calder Cup against one of the two survivors of the conference's best-of-three qualifying round, which will see the number-seven seed host the tenth-ranked team, and the eighth seed host the ninth-place team. Tickets for games one and two only are currently on sale for $26, $21, $17, $13, $11 and $6 (advance purchase only). They may be purchased at The Zone and all Tickets PLUS outlets, including Meijer stores, or by calling (616) 222-4000.
Tickets for additional home playoff games will be placed on sale as warranted. However, fans wishing to witness the Griffins' entire postseason run at a discount may purchase a 15-game playoff package, starting at just $105. Depending on their desired seating location, fans can save up to four dollars per ticket off the single-game price by purchasing a playoff package.
