Military Appreciation Night Tomorrow

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will hold "Military Appreciation Night" tomorrow, April 2nd, when they host the League-leading Hamilton Bulldogs at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard at 7:05 p.m.

All active, retired and delayed-entry-program military personnel and families, who show proper identification at the Harbor Yard box office, may purchase tickets for tomorrow's game at a discounted price. Members of the Armed Forces will present the colors, Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class William Tubbs will sing the national anthem, and Marine Corps Sergeant Tyson Wade will drop the puck for a ceremonial face-off prior to Wednesday's game.

Tomorrow's game versus Hamilton will be the first meeting between the teams at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard since game seven of last year's Eastern Conference Finals which the Sound Tigers won when Raffi Torres broke a scoreless tie with 1:27 left in the third period. Torres will make his first appearance as a Bulldog in Bridgeport tomorrow. Torres was traded by the Islanders to the NHL's Edmonton Oilers at the League's trade deadline on March 11th. Edmonton then assigned him to Hamilton.

Starting tomorrow, all Sound Tigers' games will be broadcast live on "News/Talk 960" WELI-AM. All games will also continue to be web cast at www.soundtigers.com while WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM will continue to broadcast road games.
