Sound Tigers Ink Campanale and Barton to Amateur Contracts

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Mar. 30, 2011) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced Wednesday morning that they have signed defenseman Matt Campanale and forward Chris Barton to amateur tryout contracts (ATOs).

Both players come to the Sound Tigers from Hockey East teams, Campanale from the University of New Hampshire and Barton from Merrimack College. Campanale appeared in 39 games for the Wildcats this season, notching 11 assists and 16 penalty minutes. Barton averaged more than a point per game with Merrimack this year (39 points in 36 games) including a career-high 25 assists. Both are set to make their professional debuts tonight in Portland against the Pirates.
