July 23, 2008 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The Minnesota Twins have sent Beloit reinforcements for their pitching staff in the form of supplemental first round pick Shooter Hunt. Hunt, the 31st overall selection in 2008, will join the Snappers tonight in time for their series opener against the South Bend Silver Hawks.
Shooter was drafted by the Twins out of the University of Tulane. In 2008, Hunt's junior season, he was named second-team Louisville Slugger All-American by Collegiate Baseball Magazine, Conference USA Pitcher of the Year and first-team All Conference USA.
The 6-3 right-hander has pitched in four games for the Elizabethton Twins this season, going 0-0 with a 0.47 ERA in 19 innings pitched. Shooter had a ridiculous 34 strikeouts coupled with just six walks while only allowing three runs (one earned) and four hits.
