West Michigan Whitecaps News Release

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps, in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers, announced today that first baseman Chris Carlson is activated from the disabled list for tonight's game against Wisconsin. To make room for Carlson on the active roster, outfielder Hayden Parrott was sent to short-season Oneonta.

Carlson's last game was the Midwest League All-Star game on June 17 in Midland, Mich., where he fractured his left hand after being hit by a pitch. The Topeka, Kansas native was hitting .290 (65-for-224) with seven home runs and 37 RBI in the first half for West Michigan. Carlson was drafted by the Tigers in the 29th round of the 2006 draft.

Parrott moves to Oneonta for the second time this season after hitting .200 (11-for-55) with one home run and six RBI in 16 games with the Whitecaps. Parrott was selected by the Tigers in the 11th round of the 2006 draft and is in his third season of professional baseball.
