Minton Strikes out Ten in Defeat

June 2, 2026 - COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps enjoyed ten strikeouts from starting pitcher Hayden Minton but couldn't keep pace with the Dayton Dragons, falling 10-4 in front of 4,614 fans Tuesday night at LMCU Ballpark. Minton punched out the first five batters he faced on the way to setting a new 2026 team record for strikeouts by a pitcher in a single game. May 31, 2026 - LANSING, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps committed four errors, and the pitching staff couldn't contain the Lansing Lugnuts in a 10-1 loss Sunday afternoon at Jackson Field. West Michigan committed four errors, tying their season high after also committing four miscues against the Dayton Dragons in an 8-5 loss on May 5. Whitecaps Walked off by Lansing in 7-6 Loss

May 30, 2026 - LANSING, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps let a late lead slip away, as Dylan Fien's game-winning two-run homer completed a comeback from a five-run deficit as part of a 7-6 loss to the Lansing Lugnuts in front of 6,515 fans at Jackson Field. With the potential winning run at the plate with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Fien turned around a 92-mph fastball with a long home run into the Lansing sky to give the Lugnuts the victory. May 29, 2026 - LANSING, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps enjoyed great pitching, timely hitting, and turned three double plays to win a second game in a six-game series for the first time since late April as part of a 4-2 win over the Lansing Lugnuts on Friday night at Jackson Field.
