Defenseman Daryl Marcoux rifled a shot from the blueline that deflected off traffic and into the back of the net at 3:02. Marcoux's ninth goal of the season came on the power play. Las Vegas would tally two more before the end of the period. At 13:24, Captain Peter Ferraro snapped a cross-ice pass to Bruce Mulherin, spring the Wranglers forward on a breakaway. Mulherin scored his 15th goal of the season by placing his shot between the legs of Mayotte, giving Las Vegas a 2-1 lead. Nathan Barrett set up Aki Seitsonen's 16th goal of the season at 17:42, pushing the Wranglers lead to 3-1.
In the third period, Matt Stephanision scored his 19th goal of the season just 3:12 into the final period, bringing the Falcons within a goal at 3-2.
