Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Matt Herneisen has been activated from the thirty-day injured reserve. Herneisen, who was named as the Royals team captain on January 8, was also selected as the winner of the team's Fans' Choice Mini-Bobblehead Contest. The Royals have teamed up with Comcast to give away 5000 of the ‘mini-Matt' bobbleheads on Fan Appreciation Night, which will be held at the final game of the regular season on Friday, April 4 (7:05 pm), when the Royals face the Cincinnati Cyclones.

In twenty-six games with the Royals this year, Herneisen has scored three goals, assisted on ten others (thirteen points), and picked up seventy-four penalty minutes, while playing to a plus-5. He has missed a total of 41 games with the Royals this season due to injury, including 23 consecutive since February 1 when he last played with the team.

The Royals return home for a five game home stand to close out the 2007-08 regular season, starting with the Trenton Devils on Friday night (March 28; 7:05 pm). The first 2000 fans that night will receive a Royals' trading card set courtesy of Rieck's Printing. The game night broadcast on Friday will begin at 6:35 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
