Chris Blight Returns To Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Chris Blight has been returned to the Royals from the Albany River Rats of the AHL. In a separate transaction, goaltender Terry Denike was placed on the three-day injured reserve.

Blight was loaned to Albany on February 14, marking his third trip to the AHL this year. During his twenty game stint with the River Rats, Blight registered five assists, picked up seventeen penalty minutes, and played to a plus-three. Blight also played eleven games with the Manitoba Moose in late December through mid-January, as well as logging a game with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins on January 23. In thirty-five games with Reading this season, Blight has scored twenty-goals, assisted on fifteen others (thirty-five points), picked up forty-nine penalty minutes and played to a plus-11.

The Royals return home for a five game home stand to close out the 2007-08 regular season, starting with the Trenton Devils on Friday night (March 28; 7:05 pm). The first 2000 fans that night will receive a Royals' trading card set courtesy of Rieck's Printing. The game night broadcast on Friday will begin at 6:35 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
