Sens Plate Sixth in Eighth to Take Game One

In game one Tuesday night, the Senators scored six runs in the eighth inning to beat New Hampshire 8-3. The game was tied 2-2 heading into extra innings and the Sens exploded. Dante Bichette, Jr. and Nick Banks both had two-run doubles in the eighth frame. Earlier in the game, Luis Garcia hit his first Double-A home run. Jordan Mills earned the win for the Sens. Tyler Mapes started and pitched six strong innings but took a no-decision.

On Capitol Hill

Tyler Mapes sailed through the first five innings, facing just two batters over the minimum. The Fisher Cats tied the game in the sixth with two runs, one unearned against Mapes.

Jonny Venters appeared in the game but left after two pitches.

Jordan Mills came on in the seventh and allowed a hit but struck out three batters.

Brad Boxberger pitched the eighth allowing only the free runner to score.

With the Gavel

Luis Garcia had two hits including his first home run this season.

Dante Bichette, Jr. had two hits and drove in two runs.

The Sens had eight hits in the game and went 4-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

Filibusters

- With the win the Sens have taken all four from New Hampshire this season.

- Harrisburg has a 6-3 record in doubleheaders with game two to come later this evening.

The Senators play the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in game two of the doubleheader at approximately 9:15 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM.
