Senators Snap Five-Game Skid Behind Bostick

Chris Bostick had three hits, including a home run, and four RBI in the Harrisburg Senators' 9-4 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs Friday night at Hadlock Field. The win snaps a five-game losing streak for the Senators (51-56) and evens the series at one apiece.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the fourth inning, Bostick hit his third home run of the season just to the right of the Maine Monster in left-center field to put Harrisburg on top. Cutter Dykstra and Brian Goodwin then singled in front of Shawn Pleffner, who doubled home a run. Three batters later, Reegie Corona hit an RBI single to make it 4-1, Senators. Portland was able to add a run in the bottom of the fourth inning off Senators' starter Matt Purke, but then stranded two.

Purke was solid through five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and walking just one. The win was Purke's first at Double-A since May 7, 2014. Nick Lee pitched a scoreless sixth inning, and the Senators went back to work in the seventh. Derrick Robinson singled and Wilmer Difo was hit by a pitch before Bostick doubled to left, scoring both runners. Bostick scored later on a wild pitch to make it a 7-3 Senators lead. Bostick picked up his fourth RBI in the ninth inning with a run-scoring single. Pleffner added his second RBI of the night with a single through the right side later in the inning.

Lee finished two innings Friday night, allowing a run on two hits with two strikeouts. Abel De Los Santos surrendered a run in the eighth, but then pitched a scoreless ninth to finish the Senators' win off.

Dykstra and Pleffner both finished 3-for-5, with Dykstra driving in one and Pleffner two. Corona had two hits while Wilmer Difo reached three times and scored each time. Harrisburg, as a team, recorded 14 hits, including six knocks with runners in scoring position.
