Harrisburg Batters 'Dogs for 9-4 Win

Portland, Maine - The Harrisburg Senators (51-55) used a 14-hit assault to defeat the Sea Dogs (40-67) 9-4 on Friday night in front of a crowd of 6,597 at Hadlock Field.

With the game tied at one entering the fourth inning, the Senators sent nine men to the plate and scored three runs on five hits off of Justin Haley. Chris Bostick hit a solo home run, while Shawn Pleffner and Reegie Corona delivered the other two RBIs.

Justin Haley (L, 4-12) allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits in six innings.

Matt Purke (1-1) picked up his first win of the year with Harrisburg, allowing two earned runs on five hits in five innings. Purke walked one and struck out one. Nick Lee worked two innings in relief and allowed one earned run on two hits. Abel De Los Santos closed out the games final two innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits while walking one and striking out two.

The Senators held just a 4-2 lead entering the seventh inning when Kyle Martin entered the game for Portland. After Derrick Robinson singled and Wilmer Difo was hit by a pitch, Chris Bostick doubled to plate both runners and give the Senators a 6-2 lead. Bostick would later score on a wild pitch to make it 7-2.

Henry Ramos went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, walk, and two runs scored for Portland, Tzu-Wei Lin finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base.

The series continues tomorrow evening at Hadlock Field, first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM. Danny Rosenbaum (0-2, 6.92) makes his fifth start for the Sea Dogs, while John Simms (0-1, 7.50) gets the ball for the Senators. Fans will be treated to a fireworks show after the game.
