The Mississippi Sea Wolves (7-14-1) won their second consecutive road game 6-5 as Mark Hurtubise's goal at 2:15 of overtime capped a wild affair between the Sea Wolves and the Columbia Inferno at the Carolina Coliseum.

Former Sea Wolf Anthony Battaglia got Columbia on the board just 16 seconds into the first period when he cashed in on a kooky bounce off the boards that fooled Sea Wolves goaltender Morgan Cey. Columbia would get out to a 2-0 lead at the 1:34 mark as Mac Faulkner picked up the rebound of a shot from Tyson Marsh. Tyler Doig would give Columbia a 3-0 lead at 9:14 of the first period, putting a wrist shot over Cey with the Inferno on the power play. The Sea Wolves began to battle back when Zbynek Hrdel's blast beat Columbia's Jeff Jakaitis at 14:34 of the first. Less than a minute later, Ryan Menei took a drop pass from Jason Tejchma and beat Jakaitis with a wrist shot at 15:20 of the first. Mark Rooneem tied it at three with a power-play goal for Mississippi at 16:13.

Mac Faulkner scored his second of the game for Columbia, beating Cey with a wrist shot at 2:04 of the second period. Travis Lisabeth tied the game at four for Mississippi when he beat Jakaitis at 16:04 of the second period.

The Sea Wolves would take the lead when Andy Rogers scored his first goal in a Sea Wolves uniform with a power-play blast from the point at 10:32 of the third period. Mississippi would take a bench minor for too many men on the ice at 18:58 of the third period that would lead to Daniel Sparre's tying goal on the power play at 19:23 of the third period.

The Sea Wolves found themselves shorthanded in the early going of overtime when Mark Rooneem took a holding minor 15 seconds into the extra frame, but the Inferno quickly took a pair of penalties that gave the Sea Wolves a four-on-three man advantage. Mark Hurtubise took a feed from Chris Cava and put it by Jakaitis to give Mississippi the win at the 2:15 mark of overtime.

Saturday, December 8 @ Augusta, 0-3 L

The Mississippi Sea Wolves (7-15-1) lost to the Augusta Lynx by a score of 3-0 on Saturday evening at James Brown Arena in Augusta, Georgia.

After a scoreless first period, Matt Auffrey scored the first of his two goals on the evening at 6:57 of the second period, when he pounded the rebound of a shot from Igor Pohanka past Sea Wolves goaltender Ryan Munce with the Lynx on the power play.

Auffrey would score his second of the game at 2:45 of the third, breaking in on net and tucking the puck through Munce's legs to give Augusta a 2-0 lead. The Lynx made it 3-0 with Jeremy Schenderling's power-play goal at 19:10 of the third period.

Bobby Goepfert made 26 saves and earned an assist in the shutout win for Augusta. Ryan Munce made 35 saves taking the loss for Mississippi, and the Sea Wolves were 0-for-7 on the power play.
