South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The Stingrays looked to continue their winning streak as they played last weekend in Augusta on Friday and hosted the Johnstown Chiefs on Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday night, the Stingrays were off to a quick start as Marty Guerin scored the first goal just 1:18 into the first period. The Stingrays then scored three more goals, two by Matt Reid, before the Lynx had a chance to even get on the board in the third period. Final score 4-1 as the Rays extended their streak to four.
Looking to win at home, the Stingrays hosted the Chiefs on Saturday night. Behind another two-goal game for Matt Reid and solid goaltending from Davis Parley, the Stingrays won 5-2, extending the streak to five.
On Sunday, the Stingrays scored four unanswered goals beginning in the 2nd period to defeat the Chiefs 4-2. Steve Pinizzotto had two goals in the game, continuing his streak of scoring at least one goal in the last six games. He has nine points (7g,2a) since Nov. 28th.

ECHL League Leaders:
Grant McNeill leads the league in minor penalties with 32 in 23 games. His 94 penalty minutes is first among defensemen. He also leads the way with major penalties, with six.
Davis Parley had entered the list of top goalies in the ECHL. His 2.45 goals-against average ranks tenth.
Josh Johnson has a .833 shoot-out percentage, which ties him for third.
Travis Morin and Andrew Gordon lead rookies with two short-handed goals a piece.
Among rookies, the Stingrays have three of the top-20 point scorers. Travis Morin is 5th with 22 points, Paul McIlveen's 20 points places him 9th, and Stephen Werner is 20th with 18 points.
McIlveen is fourth for rookies in assists, with fifteen.
T.J. McElroy breaks into the top-20 defensemen in points as his 13 points ranks him 18th.
The Stingrays remain 5th in the Southern Division and are now 8th in the American Conference.

Tuesday, December 11th and Wednesday December 12th: Davis Parley, Trent Campbell and Travis Morin will be at the Low Country Food Bank on the 11th from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. to help inspect and package food. Members of the Front Office Staff will be out on the 12th from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday, December 11th: Andrew Andricopoulos, Paul McIlveen, Derrick Byfuglien and Josh Johnson will be at Sangaree Elementary School from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. to teach hockey basics to their entire second grade.
Saturday, December 15th: Come out to the Hair Cuttery in Azalea Square in Summerville to get your Steve Pinizzotto and Chris Chaput autographs. Hair Cuttery will be giving away special prizes from noon until 2 p.m. Cool Ray will also be there for pictures and autographs.
