Portland, Maine- Portland Sea Dogs' outfielder Josh Reddick has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to April 30. Outfielder Matt Sheely joins the Sea Dogs from Single-A Salem.

Reddick has appeared in 17 games for the Sea Dogs this hitting .288 with a league leading six home runs and seven RBI. The 22 year-old Reddick, was selected b the Red Sox in the 17th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

Sheely has appeared in 14 games for the Salem Red Sox this season hitting .310 with six RBI. The 22 year-old Sheely spent the 2008 season with Single-A Lancaster where he hit .218 with with 12 RBI in 65 games. He was selected by the Red Sox in 48th round of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft.

The Sea Dogs begin a seven game road trip tonight at 6:35 PM against the Connecticut Defenders in Norwich, Connecticut. The Sea Dogs return to Hadlock Field on Friday, May 8th at 7:00 PM against the New Britain Rock Cats. Tickets are available for all remaining 2009 Sea Dogs' home games.
