NEWS AND NOTES
HEADING HOME SOON : The Portland Sea Dogs wrap-up a six-game roadtrip on Wednesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park against the Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies affiliate)...Portland has tied a season-high with four straight losses, and are a season-high five games under .500...Hartford has won all five games on their homestand, after starting the season 1-6 in Hartford...Following a day off tomorrow, the 'Dogs open up a six-game homestand on Friday night against Reading.
THEY COUNTED AS TWO : Hartford hit two controversial homers with two outs in the eighth inning, leading them to a 4-1 win in the middle game of the series...Ryan Metzler snapped a 1-1 tie with a two-run homer to left, but on the replay, the ball clearly hit below the yellow line...The next pitch, Mylz Jones hit a homer down the left-field line, which appeared to be foul...Danny Mars knocked in Portland's lone run with a single in the fifth.
