Sasha Mutala Invited to HC U-18 Selection Camp

Kennewick, WA - Americans forward Sasha Mutala has been invited to Hockey Canada's Under-18 Summer Selection Camp. Forty-four of Canada's top hockey prospects were invited to the camp - 14 from the Western Hockey League and only two from the U.S. Division.

The tournament will take place July 28 - August 1 in Calgary, AB. Players selected at the camp will compete for Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team at the Hlikna Gretzky Cup this August in Edmonton and Red Deer.

The 17-year old Vancouver, BC native was selected 6th overall by Tri-City in the 2016 Bantam Draft. He played 68 games and tallied 26 total points (11G, 15A) during his 2017-18 rookie season for the Americans.

Mutala had an opportunity to wear the Maple Leaf for Team Canada last November at the 2017 World U-17 Hockey Challenge. He was the captain for Canada Black and recorded 8 total points (5G, 3A) in 5 games.
