
Blades Unveil Full 2018-19 Regular Season Schedule

Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blades are excited to unveil the 2018-19 Western Hockey League regular season schedule. The new WHL schedule features a reduced number of games at 68 down from 72.
Saskatoon will open the season in Swift Current against the reigning league champion Broncos on Friday, September 21st. The following night is the Blades' home opener taking place at 7:00pm at SaskTel Centre facing off against the Swift Current Broncos.
Over the course of the season, the Blades will play the bulk of their games on the weekend with 21 games falling on Saturdays; 8 of which will be at SaskTel Centre. 20 games are schedule for Fridays including 9 at home. 9 games are slated for Sundays.
The Blades will host five Toonie Tuesdays and four Wing-It Wednesdays at SaskTel Centre. Five home games will also land on Sundays for Mosaic Family Day games.
Other notable dates include the New Year's Day game at 2:00pm at SaskTel Centre versus the Swift Current Broncos, and the season finale home & home against the Prince Albert Raiders on March 15th & 16th in Prince Albert and Saskatoon.
The Blades will meet division rivals Swift Current and Prince Albert 8 times each; and Regina, Moose Jaw, and Brandon six times. 16 of 24 games versus the Central Division will take place prior to the holiday break while 23 of 34 games within the East Division fall into the back half of the season.
Saskatoon will play 14 home games before the Christmas break and 20 after. The biennial British Columbia Division road trip will begin on November 24th beginning in Prince George and wraps up on December 1st in Kelowna. This year the U.S. Division teams will be visiting SaskTel Centre.
