San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes selected three players in Tuesday's MLS Supplemental Draft, including Stanford forward Adam Jahn (First round, No. 15 overall), Oregon State defender Colin Mitchell (Third round, No. 53 overall) and UC Santa Barbara defender Peter McGlynn (Fourth round, No. 72 overall).
Jahn, 22, was a four-year starter for Stanford. The target man had 16 goals and 10 assists in 65 career appearances for the Cardinal. He was an All-Pac 12 and All-Far West Region selection as a junior in 2011 and a senior in 2012. Jahn has also seen time for U.S. youth teams, making the camp roster for the U-20s in July of 2010 and suiting up for the U-18s as a prep with Jesuit High School in Carmichael, Calif.
Mitchell, 22, was a four-year starter for Oregon State. He scored nine goals and had four assists in 70 career appearances for the Beavers. The San Francisco native graduated from University High School in 2008 after winning three-consecutive Bay Counties League titles with the Red Devils.
McGlynn, 23, was a fixture for UC Santa Barbara during his four years on campus. The Irish defender had two goals and six assists in 76 career games for the Gauchos. He previously played in the Shelbourne FC academy from 2000-08, helping the club to six league titles and four cup competition victories.
The trip will join San Jose in camp this week. The Earthquakes reported for preseason training on Monday and will continue to practice locally through the weekend before departing for a weeklong session in Tucson, Ariz.
