Ryan Fires Gem as 'Wolves Win 6-2

The SeaWolves won their third straight game as they took down the Richmond Flying Squirrels 6-2 on Sunday afternoon at Jerry Uht Park.

Erie struck in the first against Squirrels starter Jack Snodgrass. Devon Travis singled with one out and moved to third on a Steven Moya single. Moya stole second putting two in scoring position for Ramon Cabrera. Cabrera singled home a pair for a 2-0 lead.

The SeaWolves added to the lead in the sixth. Travis led off with his fifth triple and was tripled home by Corey Jones for a 3-0 lead. Jones scored on a Cabrera sacrifice fly for a 4-0 lead.

Richmond got on the board in the eighth against reliever Slade Smith. Skyler Stromsmoe and Ryan Lollis each singled to start the inning. Kelby Tomlinson hit into a fielder's choice with Lollis being retired at second. Stromsmoe scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Tyler Graham making it 4-1.

The 'Wolves came right back in the eighth against Richmond reliever Hunter Strickland. Jason Krizan extended his hit streak to 11 straight with a single to left. Travis followed with an infield single with his fourth hit of the game. With one out, Moya singled home Krizan for a 5-1 lead. With Travis on third, Cabrera grounded out to second, plating the run for his fourth RBI of the game and a 6-1 lead.

In the ninth, Devon Harris homered off of reliever Jose Valdez making it 6-2 for the game's final run.

Kyle Ryan (7-10) was fantastic for the 'Wolves as he tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits with a walk and four strikeouts. The win snapped a two-game losing skid for the lefty.
