Royals Trade Goaltender Curtis Darling To Charlotte

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that the organization activated goaltender Curtis Darling from the thirty-day injured reserve and traded him to the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL for undisclosed consideration. Darling (6'2"/185) (24), who is in his first full season of pro hockey, was placed on the thirty day injured reserve on October 26 prior to appearing in any games for the Royals this season. Last year, Darling completed a stellar three year career with the University of Waterloo before joining the Royals late in the season, where he played in two games and compiled a record of 0-1-0 with a 2.49 goals against average and a .923 save percentage.

The Royals return to action on Friday night, when they will make the first trip of the season to the E.J. Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio to take on the Dayton Bombers. The next home game for the Royals is Wednesday, December 5 (6:35 pm) against the Wheeling Nailers. On Friday night in Dayton, game time is 7:00 pm, and the game night broadcast will begin at 6:30 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, PA, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
