Sea Wolves Beat Stingrays 5-3

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves won their third consecutive game as Morgan Cey made 38 saves and Chris Cava, Zbynek Hrdel and Mark Hurtubise each had a goal and an assist as the Sea Wolves downed the South Carolina Stingrays 5-3.

South Carolina scored first when Andrew Gordon found the back of the net on the rebound of a shot from Stephen Werner at 12:13 of the first. Mississippi would answer back 18 seconds later when Pat Oliveto fired a wrist shot through traffic that found the net at 12:32. South Carolina would regain the lead 25 seconds later when Chris Chaput would score on a breakaway at 12:57.

The Sea Wolves evened the score early in the second period on the power play when Chris cava tipped Matt Deschamps shot past South Carolina goaltender Josh Johnson at 2:31. Mississippi would take the lead when Mark Hurtubise banged home a centering feed from Travis Lisabeth at 15:15 of the second period.

Zbynek Hrdel banged home the rebound of a shot from Stan Lascek at 11:08, giving the Sea Wolves a 4-2 lead. Chris Chaput would score his second of the game at 17:10, but Jason Tejchma iced the Sea Wolves victory, picking up the rebound of the shot from Hrdel at 18:19 of the second period.

Morgan Cey made 38 saves on 41 shots for Mississippi, and the Sea Wolves were 1-for-4 on the power play.
