MacMurchy Activated, Geisler and Ellsworth to IR

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, has announced right wing Ryan MacMurchy has been activated off the three-day injured reserve list.

In addition, goaltender Cam Ellsworth has been placed on the three-day injured reserve list and defenseman Beau Geisler has been placed on the seven-day injured reserve list (retroactive to November 25).

MacMurchy, 24, was acquired by the Thunder from the Elmira Jackals in exchange for future considerations (right wing Luke Fulghum) on October 23, 2007 and has scored eight points (3g-5a) in 11 games with four penalty minutes for the Thunder this season. The Regina, Saskatchewan native was selected in the ninth round (284th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues and split his first season in professional hockey last year with the ECHL's Alaska Aces and the AHL's Peoria Rivermen, scoring 15 points (8g-7a) with 72 penalty minutes in 42 combined games.

Ellsworth, 27, is in his third professional season (second with the Thunder) and has a record of 3-5-0, a 3.77 goals-against-average and .885 save percentage in nine games this year.

Geisler, 26, is in his third professional season (second with the Thunder), scoring six points (1g-5a) with six penalty minutes and a -6 rating in 11 games this year. Named to the starting lineup for the National Conference at last year's ECHL All-Star Game, Geisler has scored 70 points (14g-56a) and tallied 84 penalty minutes in 137 career professional games with the ECHL's Thunder, Reading Royals and the AHL's Manchester Monarchs.
