Royals Activate Mizzi…O\'Leary and Dube Placed on IR

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that forward Preston Mizzi has been activated off the 7-day IR. In addition, right wing Jamie O'Leary and defenseman Jim Dube have been placed on the 7-day IR.

Mizzi was placed on the injured list on January 13 due to an injury suffered in Saturday's game against Wheeling. The fourth-year professional was averaging nearly a point per game with Reading prior to the injury. He scored six goals and eleven points in 14 games with 20 penalty minutes. The Sault Saint Marie, Ontario native was acquired by the Royals on December 3 from the Dayton Bombers. He appeared in 15 games with Dayton and tallied two goals and five points with 32 minutes in penalties. Mizzi missed a total of five games with the injury. He is expected to be in the line up tomorrow night against Trenton.

Jamie O'Leary appeared in two games with Reading over the weekend, both against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Friday, O'Leary chipped in a goal and an assist in Reading's 4-1 win. O'Leary was held scoreless on Saturday in Reading's 4-3 shootout loss to the Bullies. The Needham, Massachusetts native was acquired by Reading last season and appeared in seven regular season games and 14 Kelly Cup Playoff contests.

Jim Dube has played in just four games this season. He also appeared in back-to-back games against Atlantic City last weekend after being claimed off waivers by the Royals. Dube was held scoreless and registered no penalty minutes. The Ottawa, Ontario native was signed by Bakersfield on January 9 and appeared in two games with the Condors. He had no points and was plus-1 in plus/minus rating.

The Reading Royals are entering their fourth season in Reading, Pennsylvania after relocating from Columbus, Ohio. The Royals enjoyed their first Kelly Cup playoff appearance last season, claiming the Northern Division Title and were one win away from qualifying for the Kelly Cup Finals. The Royals and the City of Reading are proud to be hosting the 13th annual ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition presented by Coors Light on January 25 and 26.

The Royals host a pair of games this week in the Sovereign Center. Reading will play back-to-back games against Trenton on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. ET. CTCE Federal Credit Union is handing out Royals lunch sacks to the first 1,000 youngsters 12-and-under on Friday. Saturday, Diamond Credit Union is presenting the first 2,500 fans through the gate an ECHL All Star action card of Ryan Kinasewich. It's also "Fill the boot night" at the Sovereign Center. The Reading Fire Department will be collecting money on the concourse for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
