Beechey Named All Star Starter Replacement

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots are proud to announce that center Tyler Beechey has been added to the American Conference Team as a starter in the Coors Light ECHL All Star game to be played on Wednesday, January 26 in Reading, Pennsylvania at 6:00 p.m. central time.

Beechey replaces Charlotte's Mike Harder, who is injured, in the starting line up for the American Conference. Beechey has played in 36 games for the Ice Pilots and leads the team with 19 goals, 16 assists and 45 points. His 45 points is the second most in the league and he is tied for fourth in the league with 19 goals. Beechey is also tied for first in the league with 17 power play points and second in the league with 6 game winning goals.

Beechey will be joined by defenseman Corey Neilson, who is the captain and also a starter for the American Conference, goalie Todd Ford, head coach Dave Farrish and equipment manager John Krouse representing the Ice Pilots in the Coors Light ECHL All-Star game. WFGX TV will televise the game live beginning at 6:00 p.m. central time.

The Ice Pilots will play at Long Beach on Friday night at 9:30 p.m. central time. Fans will be able to listen to the game on flagship station AM 1620, Cox Communications Channel 2, at www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue and offered as a pay per view webcast at www.icepilots.com in conjunction with B2 Networks.

The Ice Pilots next home game is Friday, January 28 vs. Augusta at 7:05 p.m. It is Mardi Gras Night. The Ice Pilots will be wearing their Mardi Gras Jerseys sponsored by Hill Kelly Dodge and the jerseys will be auctioned after the game. A Mardi Gras Parade on Ice will take place during both intermissions.

The Ice Pilots will also play home to Augusta on Saturday, January 29th at 7:05 p.m. It is NASCAR Night. Fans who will wear NASCAR apparel will receive $2 off a ticket to the game. #9 Kasey Kahne NASCAR will be on dis play in front of the Civic Center. Ms. U.S.A. sponsored by WEAR TV 3 will be at the game for the ceremonial puck drop and sign autographs. The Ice Pilots would like to thank Hill Kelly Dodge for help supporting NASCAR Night.

Both games Friday and Saturday are Florida Lottery Second Chance Night. All 100 vouchers for the Florida Lottery Second Chance Night for Friday night have been used and none are left and only a limited number remains for the game on Saturday.

The Ice Pilots also play home on Sunday, January 30th vs. Pee Dee at 5:05 p.m. It is Family Day. A family of four can purchase 4 tickets, 4 sodas and 4 hot dogs for $44. The Ice Pilots will sign autographs after the game for Kids Club Members only. The Ice Pilots will also join the public skate which will be open to everyone.
