LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Brett Lawrie was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI as the Las Vegas 51s defeated the Round Rock Express 9-4 in Monday night's Pacific Coast League action at Cashman Field. Las Vegas (21-18) leads the series two games to one. The Express (24-14) drop to 3-4 on the current road trip.

Las Vegas scored three runs in each of the first two innings as Express starter Zach Jackson faced 16 batters through the first two frames. Round Rock inched back into the game with solo spots in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Matt Kata and Esteban German had solo homers in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively. Chad Tracy doubled to open the sixth and later scored on Kata's RBI groundout.

That was as close as the Express would get, though, as Las Vegas pulled away with another three-spot in the seventh, keyed by Adam Loewen's two-run homer. Round Rock scratched for a run in the top of the ninth on Joey Butler's sacrifice fly, but the Express left the bases loaded to end the game.

Las Vegas starter Brett Cecil (4-1) picked up the win; he allowed three runs on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 6.0 innings.

Jackson (2-1) took the loss, surrendering six runs on six hits and four walks with two strikeouts over 4.0 innings.

Round Rock and Las Vegas conclude the four-game series Tuesday with a 12:35 p.m. CDT first pitch at Cashman Field. Right-hander Derek Hankins (5-1, 6.48 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Express opposite right-hander Michael MacDonald (1-1, 6.17 ERA).
