PRINCETON, NJ. – The ECHL announced its 2004-05 All-Rookie Team today, and included Ice Dogs center, Marco Rosa. The All-Rookie Team is determined by a vote of ECHL coaches who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards. A rookie is a player who has played less than 25 professional games.

Rosa, 23, currently ranks second among all ECHL rookies in goals (33), points (64), plus-minus (+34) and is tied for third in shorthanded goals (3). He was originally selected in the eighth round (255th overall) by the Dallas Stars in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Rosa also ranks third among all ECHL players in plus-minus and fourth in goals, while being tied for 15th in overall scoring. He represented Long Beach and the National Conference in the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game, and has 17 multi-point games and is currently the second leading scorer on the Ice Dogs' roster. He is one of only four players on the Ice Dogs to have played in all 70 games so far this season.

The other players selected to the All-Rookie team were center Joe Tenute of South Carolina (34g, 39a, 73 pts, -1), center Jeff Campbell of Gwinnett (30g, 33a, 63 pts, +20), defenseman Mark Ardelan of South Carolina (15g, 32a, 47 pts, -7), defenseman Mike Jarmuth of Mississippi (12g, 21a, 33 pts, +4) and goaltender Frank Doyle of Idaho (32-12-4, 2.13 GAA, .917 save pct.).

The Ice Dogs have two more regular season games remaining, this weekend versus the Fresno Falcons. Long Beach has clinched a Kelly Cup Playoff berth and currently sits in second place in the West Division with 92 points. The schedule for the first round of the playoffs is still to be determined.
