Titans Down Nailers, 2-1

TRENTON, NJ (April 7, 2005) – The Trenton Titans, led by Andrew Allen's 32 saves, defeated the Wheeling Nailers, 2-1, in front of 5,425 fans at Sovereign Bank Arena.

The Nailers dominated the first period, firing 11 shots on Allen. However, Allen stopped them all and carried Trenton through a scoreless first period.

Forward B.J Abel broke the scoreless tie with his 6th goal of the year at 13:13 in the second period. Deschenes fired a wrist shot on goal that Wheeling goaltender Joe Exter sticked away. However, Abel was waiting for the rebound and poked it home for the Titans first goal of the game.

Brent Robinson gave the Titans a two-goal lead at 7:17 in the third when converted Les Hagget's centering pass for his 18th goal of the season.

With the goal, Robinson pushed his current scoring streak to eight games. Over that stretch he has notched four goals and six assists. His 53 points on the season moved Robinson into a tie for 6th among ECHL rookies.

Wheeling fired back with a short-handed goal from Ed McGrane at 12:32 in the final frame. His 26th of the season brought the Nailers within one of the Titans.

However, Allen wouldn't let another puck past him, stopping 11 total shots in the third. With the win, he earned his 28th victory of the season.

The Titans went scoreless in six power play opportunities, but were 4-for-4 on the penalty kill
