Forward B.J Abel broke the scoreless tie with his 6th goal of the year at 13:13 in the second period. Deschenes fired a wrist shot on goal that Wheeling goaltender Joe Exter sticked away. However, Abel was waiting for the rebound and poked it home for the Titans first goal of the game.

Wheeling fired back with a short-handed goal from Ed McGrane at 12:32 in the final frame. His 26th of the season brought the Nailers within one of the Titans.
However, Allen wouldn't let another puck past him, stopping 11 total shots in the third. With the win, he earned his 28th victory of the season.
