Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The opening game of a six-game road trip for the Gary SouthShore RailCats was suspended due to rain in the top of the second inning. The RailCats were trailing the St. Paul Saints 1-0 with two outs in the frame when the rain came.

Carlos Rivas climbed the hill for the RailCats, making his season debut after being activated from the inactive list before the game. St. Paul knocked in a run in the bottom of the first inning to take the lead. Saints starter Alberto Rolon struggled with his footing on the mound with a light rain falling, and the game was forced into a delay.

After a delay of an hour the tarp was removed but heavy rain started falling again forcing the suspension of the contest. Friday's game will pick up in the top of the second at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday and will play through nine innings. A scheduled seven-inning contest will follow. Both games can be heard live on The Lakeshore FM.
