The Albany River Rats host the Norfolk Admirals in a critical East Division battle at 7:00pm on Wednesday night at Pepsi Arena. The River Rats then take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday in a 7:00pm face-off at home. Albany then begins a four-game, six-day road trip on Saturday night against the Rochester Americans at 7:35pm. The River Rats finish off the busy week with their only visit to Hamilton's Copps Coliseum to skate against the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm.
Rat Bites:
C Craig Darby picked up two assists in his 800th professional game on Friday night against Hershey at Pepsi Arena. The Albany Academy graduate leads the River Rats and ranks 11th in the AHL with 45 (17-28-45) points this season.
The Albany River Rats scored two shorthanded goals on Friday and are tied for third in the AHL with 10 shorthanded goals this season. This is the first time since the 1999-2000 season that the River Rats have totaled at least 10 shorthanded tallies.
LW Steve Kariya posted his 100th professional goal on Sunday afternoon in Springfield. The winger picked up two goals and three assists for five points in four games last week.

River Rats Rewind: Week 19 â February 2, 2004 (1-2-1-0, 4pts)
February 11th â POR 2 @ ALB 2 F/OTâ LW's Steve Kariya & Greg Crozier each scored second period goals for the River Rats in the only Albany meeting between the two clubs this season. C Craig Darby picked up two assists, while G Ari Ahonen stopped 35 of 37 shots for his fourth tie of the season.
February 13th â HER 5 @ ALB 6 F/OT â LW Greg Crozier scored two goals, including the game winner at 3:20 of over time. The River Rats scored two shorthanded goals, while G Ari Ahonen made 34 saves in Albany's second win over Hershey during the 2003-04 campaign.
February 14th â MCR @ ALB 0 â Manchester RW Sam Ftorek scored the game winner at the 9:13 mark of the first period as the Monarchs swept the 2003-04 season series. Albany G Matus Kostur made 19 saves in just his second AHL start as the River Rats out shot Manchester 29-22.
February 15th â ALB 3 @ SPR 5 â Former River Rat D Bryan Helmer picked up three assists and the Falcons scored three power play goals en route to picking up their third win over Albany this season. River Rats C Craig Darby notched a goal and an assist, while G Ari Ahonen made a season-high 41 saves in the loss. Upcoming Promotions:
