
IceCats Return Goalies to ECHL

WORCESTER, MA â St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau announced today that the IceCats have returned on loan goaltender Levente Szuper to the IceCats ECHL affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. The âCats also released goaltender Jake Moreland from his Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
The 24 year old Moreland became the sixth goaltender used by the IceCats when he made his American Hockey League (AHL) debut last night in Bridgeport. A native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Moreland allowed one goal on 18 shots in last nights loss to the Sound Tigers. Prior to signing with Worcester, he appeared in 16 games for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL. The first-year pro has an ECHL record of 9-3-1 with a .913 save percentage and a 2.62 goals against average.
Szuper has participated in 17 games with the Illinois-based Rivermen this season, compiling a record of 11-5-1, with one shutout and a 2.52 goals against average. The Budapest, Hungary-born backstop also has a .907 save percentage.
Szuper made his IceCats debut, in relief, on Saturday, October 18th in Binghamton, facing 16 shots. He's appeared in three games total for the IceCats this season, with no record, a .821 save percentage and a 4.52 GAA. He did not see game action during this recall.
The IceCats are on the road in Hartford and Providence on Saturday and Sunday, before returning to Worcester's Centrum Centre for a 7:05 PM face-off with the Lowell Lock Monsters on Friday, February 27th. For ticket information, please contact an IceCats ticket representative at 1-800-830-CATS.
