Cleveland Barons News Release
CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Barons today announced that left wing Nick Bootland was recalled from Kalamazoo of the UHL and goaltender Dimitri Patzold was reassigned to Johnstown of the ECHL. Wayne Thomas, General Manager of the Barons, made the announcement.
Nick Bootland will join the Barons for his second stint in Cleveland this season. On December 10th, Bootland was recalled and appeared in one game against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Bootland scored a goal on his only shot in the Barons 4-3 victory. The 6'2", 215-pound left wing has appeared in at least one game in each of the Barons three seasons in Cleveland. The Etobicoke, Ontario native has appeared in 229 career AHL games recording 18 goals, 30 assists and 367 penalty minutes.
Patzold, who is returning from an ankle sprain, will report to Johnstown of the ECHL. Patzold will fill the roster spot vacated by Arturs Irbe, who was recalled by the Carolina Hurricanes. In 21 games with the Barons, Patzold has an 8-12 record with a 2.91 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. The Kazakhstan native has recorded 3 shutouts this season.
In addition to the roster moves, defenseman Doug Murray will not make the trip to Toronto and St. John's due to injury.
