**River Bandits On The Field**

As of Thursday morning, the River Bandits are in first place in the Midwest League's Western Division (30-23), one-half of a game in front of the Clinton LumberKings, who they conclude a series with in Clinton on Thursday night.

The River Bandits' pitching staff leads the Midwest League with a 3.08 ERA and 571 strikeouts.

Through the first 53 games, Quad Cities' pitching staff has struck out 571 batters while only walking 218.

Astros' Top 25 prospect Jonathan Arauz is tied for the league-lead in games played (50 as of Thursday). He leads the league in triples (6), is third in total bases (88) and is tied for fourth in extra-base hits (21).

Five players have hit at least four home runs through the team's first 53 games of the season: Jake Adams (7), Colton Shaver (6), Jake Meyers (5), Jonathan Arauz (4) and Corey Julks (4).

The River Bandits have hit 29 home runs in the month of May as of May 30. The team is hitting .271 this month and is averaging over 5 runs per game on offense.

As a team, the River Bandits have 96 doubles, 18 triples and 39 home runs. They are averaging nearly 3 extra-base hits per game through the first 53 games of the season.

Outfielder Jake Meyers is fifth in the Midwest League with 14 doubles as of May 30.

RHP Cristian Javier ranks second in the league with 65 strikeouts as of May 30. He is 2-1 with a 1.85 ERA and has made six starts out of his nine appearances this season. Javier has pitched 39 innings and has only walked 19 batters to go along with his 65 punchouts. Opponents are hitting .176 off of the Astros' Top 25 prospect.

Through his first 21 games with Quad Cities, Astros' Top 25 infield prospect, Miguelangel Sierra, is hitting .306 with six doubles, one triple, three home runs and 16 RBI.

After the River Bandits host Beloit this weekend, they have Monday (June 4) off before a seven-game road trip in Wisconsin and Peoria (June 5-11). Quad Cities returns home for Clinton and Burlington (May 12-17) before the all-star break. The Bandits will be home again May 21-27 to host Beloit and Wisconsin.
