MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Three home runs propelled the Iowa Cubs to a 7-2 win over the Memphis Redbirds on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park in the finale of a four-game series.

Memphis split the season-opening four-game series with the Cubs, outscoring Iowa by a 15-5 margin through the first two games. The Cubs followed by outscoring Memphis, 20-2, over the final two contests for the split.

Catcher Cody Stanley went 1-for-3 with an RBI, extending his season-opening hitting streak to four games. Third baseman Scott Moore added two hits, including a double and run scored.

Cubs tops prospect Kris Bryant homered for the second straight game while driving in three. Prospect Addison Russell also hit a two run blast and had three hits. Former Redbird Adron Chambers got things started for the Cubs in the second inning with an RBI double down the left field line.

Russell followed in the next inning with his first career Triple-A home run, a two-run shot into the Redbirds bullpen in left center that extended the Iowa lead to 3-0. Jonathan Mota belted a solo homer in the next frame to push the lead to 4-0.

Memphis plated its only two runs in the fourth, which ended a streak of 17 unanswered Cub runs since game two of the series on Friday. Stanley put the Redbirds on the board with an RBI single up the middle, followed by pinch hitter Mike O'Neill working a bases-loaded walk.

Bryant was responsible for Iowa's final three runs late in the game, a two-run blast in the seventh and sacrifice fly in the ninth frame.

Take a loss in his season debut, Memphis starter Tyler Lyons (0-1) allowed four runs seven hits (two homers) over four innings. He walked two and fanned six.

The Redbirds continue their homestand Monday and welcome the back-to-back Triple-A National Champion Omaha Storm Chasers (Triple-A Royals) to AutoZone Park for a four-game series. Omaha eliminated Memphis in four games in the first round of the postseason last season. Left-hander John Gast will toe the rubber for Memphis in the opener against former Redbirds right-hander Clayton Mortensen at 7:05 pm CT.
