Chihuahuas Come Back to Beat Tacoma 7-6 Sunday

The El Paso Chihuahuas had multiple comebacks Sunday afternoon in their 7-6 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers. The game featured six different lead changes.

Trailing 1-0 in the second inning, Austin Hedges hit a two-out, two-run single to put El Paso ahead. Tacoma's Jesus Montero and Patrick Kivlehan hit home runs in a four-run fourth but the Chihuahuas climbed back within one run in their two-run fourth inning. Ramiro Pena's fifth inning sacrifice fly tied the game at five in the fifth.

Brett Wallace had two different go-ahead singles in the back-and-forth game. Wallace's RBI in the sixth inning made it 6-5 El Paso and after Tacoma tied the game Wallace did it again in the eighth with a hit that put the Chihuahuas in front 7-6.

El Paso reliever Cory Mazzoni pitched 2.1 scoreless innings Sunday and has not allowed a run in his first 4.1 innings this season. Sunday's game started after a 26 minute rain delay.
