South Carolina Stingrays News Release


NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays will face division-rival Florida Everblades for the second day in a row today at the North Charleston Coliseum at 4 p.m. All the action will be broadcast live tonight on ESPN Radio 910 the Team with Mike Kelly, "Voice of the Rays" beginning at 3:45 p.m. with the Benito's Pre-game Show.

Tonight marks the seventh meeting between the teams with the Everblades winning the series with a record of 4-2-0 after the 14-round shootout win against the Rays last night.

With Augusta defeating Charlotte last night, South Carolina remains two points ahead of in the race for the playoffs. They are 26-18-5 and 14-8-4 at home. In the last ten games the Rays are 5-3-2 and are undefeated in regulation in their last four games going 2-0-1-1. Captain Cail MacLean extended his point streak to four games with an assist last night.

Florida is now 31-15-2 this season for 64 points and moved up to second in the division. They are 16-7-1 on the road and 7-2-1 in their last ten games. Derek Damon scored two goals in the shootout including the deciding one in the 14th round.

Bring your dog to the game for the "Dog Days of Winter" presented today by Pet Helpers. Pet Helpers will be accepting donations of cat food, new or gently used collars and leashes, dog toys and peanut butter for the toys and more. Please drop off your donations to the Pet Helpers table that will be located on the concourse and visit with the dogs there available for adoption.

It's also Scout Day and Kid's Day presented by the Carolina Ice Palace. All kids 12-and-under can purchase tickets to today's game for just $5 at the box office. Don't forget you skates because following today's match-up is a post-game Skate with the Rays. Stingrays Hockey - A Whole Lot Cooler!
