Cyclones Shut Down The Storm

(Cincinnati, OH) The Toledo Storm (25-21-1) fell Sunday afternoon 3-1 to the Cincinnati Cyclones (27-18-4). The official box can be seen at Toledo vs. Cincinnati .

Following a scoreless first period of play, Toledo found them trailing as Cincinnati cracked the scoreboard first at 6:40 of the second when newly acquired Mike Wirll collected his 34th goal of the year. Toledo would respond as newcomer John Thomas collected a loose puck behind the Cyclones and beat Dov Grumet-Morris at 14:54 on the wraparound to tie the game at 1. The goal was Thomas's first in a Storm uniform. It was an unassisted goal. The Cyclones would regain the lead before the end of the second when Travis Lisabeth collected his 14th of the year at the 18:00 mark. Scott Reynolds would add an empty net goal at 19:34 of the third to finish out the game.

Ervins Mustukovs (3-3-0) made 26 saves in his 6th start of the season for the Storm. Dov Grumet-Morris made 22 saves to collect his first win against Toledo this season. Cincinnati out the Storm 29-23 and Toledo finished 0-4 with the man advantage, which snapped a five game streak of power play goals.
