Trenton Devils News Release
JOHNSTOWN, PA (February 18, 2007) - The Trenton Titans could overcome a two-goal effort by Adam Henrich in a 3-2 loss to the Johnstown Chiefs on Sunday afternoon at the Cambria County War Memorial.
After being shutout on the man-advantage the night before, the Titans notched a goal on the first power play of the game when Les Haggett roofed the rebound from Don Morrison's point shot at 3:54 of the opening period.
Henrich helped Johnstown tie the score at 12:40 as he camped out at the Trenton blueline and took Ian MacLean's clearing attempt in for a breakaway goal.
He also later gave the Chiefs their first lead of the contest with a shorthanded goal in the middle period. As Johnstown started a 2-on-1 break, a centering feed by Henrich deflected off of Titans de-man Don Morrison and right back to the Chiefs forward for the easy tuck-in at 8:49.
The Titans would answer back on the man-advantage over three minutes later as this time it was Benoit Mondou's hammering Jake Ortmeyer's rebound off the far post and into the near side of the net.
Johnstown took back their lead for good, however, at 14:25 of the second period with a power play goal by Jean Desrochers.
Trenton went 2-for-7 on the power play and 9-for-10 on the penalty kill.
Prior to the game several changes made to the Titans' roster. The Lowell Devils recalled left wing Mike Pandolfo, while goaltender Joel Martin was released from his PTO with the Norfolk Admirals (AHL) and returned to the Titans. Trenton also added defenseman Nello Ferrara, a second-year pro who has made appearances with both the Toledo Storm and the Fayetteville FireAntz (SPHL) this season.
The Trenton Titans continue on to Dayton to battle the Bombers on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00pm. This game can be heard or view exclusively on the internet at www.trentontitans.com courtesy of B2 Networks.
