Fresno Falcons News Release

LAST WEEK: Fresno went 2-2-0 on its four-game road trip, winning a pair of games in Utah, while losing once each at Utah and at Bakersfield. The Falcons are 26-20-4 for 56 points and are in third place of the Pacific Division.

Monday, February 12 @ Bakersfield Condors 4 FALCONS 2

Fresno fell behind early as Bakersfield scored a pair of power-play goals in the opening 11:09 of the first period to take a 2-0 lead. The Falcons pulled within one 1:29 into the second period on John Wroblewski's 14th goal of the season. The Condors regained their two-goal lead late in the second period, and held the lead until 18:05 of the third period when Luke Curtin notched his 200th professional goal to pull the Falcons back within one. But, Tyler Liebel scored for Bakersfield just 55 seconds later to set the final.

Wednesday, February 14 @ Utah FALCONS 4 Grizzlies 3 (OT)

Trailing 3-1 entering the final period, the Falcons rallied to force overtime. Lucas Lawson cut Fresno's deficit to one with his eighth goal of the season at 7:45, and Dustin VanBallegooie pulled Fresno even at 10:49. In the extra session, Cory Murphy scored on a blast from the right point at 2:49 to end the Falcons' four-game losing streak and seven-game road winless streak.

Friday, February 16 @ Utah Grizzlies 5 FALCONS 1

Utah scored twice in the first period to open a 2-0 lead. John Morlang scored his team-leading 18th goal of the season 9:28 into the second period to make it 2-1, but that would be as close as the Falcons would get as the Grizzlies scored with just two seconds left in the second period, and added two more in the third period to pick up the win.

Saturday, February 17 @ Utah FALCONS 3 Grizzlies 1

Scott Stirling turned aside a season-high 44 shots to backstop Fresno to a 3-1 win over Utah in the final game of its four-game road trip. Dustin VanBallegooie got the Falcons off to a quick start, scoring his ninth goal of the season just 1:16 into the opening period. Cory Murphy and Brett Hammond added second-period tallies to extend the Falcons' lead to 3-0. Utah's Danny Stewart tallied the Grizzlies' lone goal of the game 13:42 into the second period.
