
Rangers Double up Bulldogs

KITCHENER, Ontario - The Kitchener Rangers (27-6-4-0) scored two third period goals to defeat the Hamilton Bulldogs (14-22-3-0) 4-2 on Friday night.
The Rangers opened the scoring at 8:14 of the first period when Jeremy Bracco snapped in a shot from the slot for his 10th of the season. Gustaf Franzen was credited with the lone assist on the play.
Hamilton tied it up in the second period as Niki Petti received a cross ice pass from Matt Luff and then wristed a shot in the top corner at 10:24.
Just over a minute later Kitchener restored their lead as Elijah Roberts fired a shot in from the hash mark. The goal at 11:32 of the second period was assisted by Nick Magyar and Mason Kohn.
Trent Fox tied it at two with just .9 seconds left in the second period when he banked a puck off the back of the Kitchener goaltender and in for his 15th of the year. Brandon Saigeon and Michael Cramarossa were awarded the assists on the play.
In the third period Brian Brosnan slapped a shot off a clean face off to beat a screened Connor Hicks at 12:53 to give Kitchener the lead.
The Rangers finished it off with a goal on a two on one rush as Ryan MacInnis scored his 21st of the season at 13:09.
The Bulldogs head to Peterborough to take on the Petes tomorrow night. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. Hamilton is next at home on Friday, January 15th to take on the Barrie Colts in their annual First Responders Night game.
