SHOTS FROM THE POINT 08-09

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: San Antonio is in Cleveland today to complete the game suspended on March 21st. The Rampage led 1-0 after the first period when the game was stopped due to unsafe ice conditions. Sean Zimmerman scored his first AHL goal and Joel Perrault added an assist in a game started by goalie Al Montoya, now with the Phoenix Coyotes.

BIRTHDAY BOYS: April 6, 1983 was a good date for a hockey baby! Joel Perrault and Simon Ferguson each celebrate their 26th birthday today.

PERRAULT ON POINT: Joel Perrault is riding a five-game goal streak. The Montreal, Quebec native has also registered the game-winning goal in the last three Rampage wins. The birthday boy already has a gift with today's game in Cleveland - his team-high nine-game points streak is already intact with his assist back on March 21st.

JOSHFEST: Josh Tordjman returned to San Antonio after injuring his thumb in Phoenix (NHL). Instead of getting down, Josh returned to the ice recording back-to-back shutouts against Iowa over the weekend. After blanking the Chops 2-0 on Friday, Tordjman closed the cage in a 1-0 win on Saturday to set the franchise record with his eighth career shutout.

KARMA CLUTCH: In a season of amazing highs and lows, this weekend had a fitting end. Iowa beat San Antonio 2-1 on October 26th, which was the first loss in the franchise record 17-game losing streak. That losing streak ostensi- bly ended San Antonio's playoff chances. So with Iowa in town this weekend and just three points out of the playoff race, the Rampage returned the favor with their weekend whitewash to officially take the Chops out of playoff consid- eration.

TOO LEGIT TO QUIT: While San Antonio is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, it hasn't stopped the Rampage from fighting. Since December 4th they are one of the best teams in the AHL. Aside from their current five-game winning streak, San Antonio is 31-17-2-3 since December totaling 67 points - good for the 6th best total in the entire league.
