Wolves Release Soares

The Chicago Wolves have released forward JOSH SOARES.

SOARES was held scoreless in three games with the Wolves, after being signed by the club on March 27. Overall, he skated in 45 American Hockey League games with the Manitoba Moose, Peoria Rivermen and Wolves this season, notching nine goals, 13 assists and 22 points. He also tallied 11 goals and 22 points in 12 ECHL contests with the Alaska Aces.

Last season, the 27-year-old forward appeared in seven AHL games with Peoria, collecting four points (2G, 2A), and registered 81 points (36G, 45A) in 61 ECHL games with Alaska. His 36 markers shared fifth in the ECHL while his 81 points held seventh in the league.

The Hamilton, Ontario, native, spent four years at the University of Maine (2003 to 2007) prior to turning pro, and has recorded 11 goals, 15 assists and 26 points in 53 career AHL outings with Peoria (2006-2009), Manitoba (2008-09) and Chicago (2008-09), and 47 goals, 56 assists and 103 points in 73 career ECHL outings with Alaska (2007-09).

Chicago returns to action on Wednesday when the Lake Erie Monsters visit the Allstate Arena at 7 p.m.
