San Antonio Rampage News Release

Rampage Update: Playing three games in four nights at home, the Rampage pulled out of the weekend 1-1-1. Spreading the first two games into overtime, the Rampage claimed their first victory of the week against Worcester on Thursday. Gregory Campbell notched a goal and an assist and Vaclav Nedorost scored on the power play for San Antonio, snapping a three-game winless streak at home. Eric Beaudoin scored the game-winner early in overtime to edge the IceCats, 3-2. The next night, the Rampage tied Hartford 2-2 in overtime. Michel Periard netted his fifth goal of the year late in the second period, followed by a shot from Beaudoin for the tie. On Sunday, the Rampage fell short to the first place West Division team Grand Rapids, 6-2. Beaudoin recorded both goals, stretching his point streak to six games.

Florida Panthers Update: Away from Florida for the week, the Panthers went 1-1-1 acquiring their first gain against Philadelphia on Thursday. Nathan Horton became the youngest player in NHL history to score on a penalty shot and added another goal in the Cats' 4-3 overtime win. Valeri Bure scored the game-winner on a slap shot with 2:04 left in overtime. Saturday's journey to face Calgary upset the Panthers with a loss against the Flames. Horton continued his hot streak Saturday night with a power-play goal, but three goals in the third period left the Panthers behind, 4-2. On Sunday, the Cats gained a two-goal lead only to have the Canucks rally in the third period and force the 2-2 decision in Vancouver. Bure scored twice and Steve Shields made 27 saves as the Panthers marked their tenth overtime tie of the season (14-18-10).
