MONDAY'S & WEDNESDAY'S GAMES... Tonight and Wednesday night, the Milwaukee Admirals (17-11-4-2) and Utah Grizzlies (13-19-4-3) battle in a pair of games at the E Center in Utah. The Admirals are 1-1 versus the Grizzlies this season with both games being played in Milwaukee. The Admirals are 5-1-0-2 in the last eight overall games against Utah and 9-2-1-2 in the last 14 contests. The Admirals are 4-1 in the last five games played in Utah. The Admirals enter this week's action in third place in the AHL's West Division five points behind the second place Chicago Wolves and only one point ahead of the fourth place Houston Aeros.

LAST WEEK'S ACTION...Jarrod Skalde scored a three-goal hat trick and goaltender Jason Bacashihua stopped 39 of 40 shots leading the Grizzlies to a 4-1 victory over the Admirals on Saturday afternoon at the Bradley Center. Vernon Fiddler supplied the only Admirals goal. On Thursday night, the Admirals lost to the Cincinnati, 3-2, at the Bradley Center. Jay Henderson and Mathieu Darche provided the Admirals firepower.

THE WEEK AHEAD...The Admirals return home on Friday night to face the St. John's Maple Leafs in the last of four regular season meetings. The Admirals are 0-1-1-1 in the previous three meetings, including 0-1 at the Bradley Center. On Saturday Milwaukee will be looking for it's first victory at the Cincinnati Gardens after going winless in the first eight outings vs. the Mighty Ducks (0-4-4). It will be the fifth of eight meetings between the teams and the third of four in Cincinnati. The Admirals are 1-2-1-0 in the previous four meetings, including 0-1-1-0 in Cincinnati. In sixteen lifetime meetings, Milwaukee is 3-6-6-1 with eight of the games reaching overtime, six have ended in a tie and the teams split the other two decisions.

TRANSACTIONS...The Nashville Predators have recalled left wing Andreas Johansson. Johansson was scoreless in one game with the Admirals. The Predators also assigned reassigned goaltender Wade Flaherty to the Admirals. Flaherty will don an Admirals' uniform for the first time since he defeated the Wolves in Chicago on December 20th. He recently competed in Davos, Switzerland as a member of the Canadian Spengler Cup team that won the tournament. He was recalled by the Predators for two games over the weekend due to illness to Predators netminder Tomas Vokun. Flaherty, who turned 36 yesterday, boasts an 8-2-1 record with a 1.81 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.

ADMIRALS LEADERS...Darren Haydar continues to lead Admirals' scorers with 24 points (11g-13a) in 30 games. He has scored at least one point in six of his last seven outings (5g-4a) and has 11 points (6g-5a) in his past nine games. Haydar was the 2003 AHL Rookie-of-the-Year, scoring 75 points (29g-46a) in 75 games last season. The 24 year old, Toronto native also shares the team lead with four power play tallies. Left wing Mathieu Darche has twelve points (6g-6a) over his last eleven AHL games and leads the Admirals with 12 goals. The 6'1", 210-pounder has scored 60 AHL goals over the past three seasons with the Syracuse Crunch, including 32 red-lighters last season. In 26 career NHL games with Columbus and Nashville, the 27-year old, McGill University alum has two points (1g-1a) and six penalty minutes. Defenseman Curtis Murphy, who was last season's Eddie Shore Trophy recipient as the AHL Defenseman of the Year with the Houston Aeros, tops Admirals playmakers with 15 assists. The 5"8", 185-pound Kerrobert, Sask. native also ranks among team leaders with a +11. Another former Aero and Boston Bruin Jay Henderson has scored a point in consecutive games and currently leads the Admirals with three game winning goals. Greg Classen shares the lead in power play goals with four and left wing Libor Pivko leads the Admirals in plus/minus rating with a +13.

BITS AND PIECES.....The Admirals boast the AHL's top offense, scoring 3.12 goals per game, while ranking twelfth defensively, allowing only 2.47 goals per contest. The Admirals are also second among AHL teams averaging 33.24 shots per game, while ranking twelfth allowing 28.24 shots per game. Milwaukee has outshot their adversaries in 14 of the last 17 games and in 23 of 34 games overall. Milwaukee is 9-4-2-2 on the road, 12-4-3 when scoring the games' first goal, 13-0-1 when leading after two periods, and 14-9-1 overall against West Division rivals.
