San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Rampage, down by a two-goal deficit, scored two goals with five minutes remaining in regulation to take the game to overtime but came up shy of the win falling 4-3 in a shootout to the Peoria Rivermen at the AT&T Center Tuesday night.
Doug Doull and Layne Ulmer each had two-point nights to challenge the Rivermen.
Peoria, on their first shift, jumped to a quick 1-0 lead 1:14 into the game as Charles Linglet tallied his first of two goals.
Layne Ulmer evened the score 1-1 with his first of two goals 2:20 in the second period. Doull tallied his second assist of the season as Rampage defenseman Ed Hill notched his first point in his third game in a Rampage uniform.
Peoria jumped to a 3-1 lead within a five-minute span as Linglet collected his second goal, his seventh of the season, at 6:12 in the middle frame before Blake Evans scored an unassisted goal at 11:11 in the period.
Doull gave the Rampage an adrenaline shot with 3:19 remaining in regulation as he shaved the Rivermen's lead to one with his first goal of the season. Ulmer maintained the momentum with his team-leading 11th goal at the 17:57 mark to give the Rampage a point in the standings and force the overtime.
Peoria and San Antonio would match shootout goals as Mike Bishai and Ulmer recorded goals for the Rampage. Peoria's Jon DiSalvatore would slip the deciding team goal on the fifth attempt to keep the Rivermen's undefeated streak against the Rampage alive.
Both teams will face each other again Friday night at the AT&T Center when the Rampage host their 3rd Military Appreciation Night at 7 p.m.
