Coyotes Reassign Spiller To San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 17, 2006) - The San Antonio Rampage today announced that their parent club, the Phoenix Coyotes, reassigned defenseman Matthew Spiller to the Rampage.

Spiller, who was recalled from San Antonio for the first time this season, last Wednesday (Jan. 11), played in two games with the Coyotes during his stint. The 22-year-old blueliner has registered 2-5-7 and a team-high 94 penalty minutes (PIM) in 36 games with San Antonio this season.

The 6-foot-5, 233-pound Spiller played in 51 games with the Coyotes during his first professional season in 2003-04. The Coyotes selected Spiller with their 2nd choice (2nd round, 31st overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
