Connecticut Whale News Release
The Wolf Pack went 2-1-0-0 this past week, with a 4-3 shootout win at Bridgeport on Wednesday, a 4-0 home victory Friday over Hershey, the Pack's first shutout of the season, and a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Portland Pirates Saturday in Hartford. Nigel Dawes was named the CCM/Vector AHL Player of the Week for last week, after he rang up three consecutive two-goal games and added an assist. Al Montoya registered his first pro shutout in Friday's win, stopping 31 Hershey shots. Craig Weller was named captain of the Wolf Pack Monday, and Chad Wiseman and Martin Grenier assistant captains, in a vote by the team.
This week: It's four divisional games in five days for the Wolf Pack, with three of the four contests on home ice. The Manchester Monarchs, two points ahead of the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division standings, invade the Hartford Civic Center on Wednesday night (7:00 faceoff). The Pack then play a home-and-home series with the Providence Bruins, Friday evening in Providence (7:05) and Saturday night in Hartford (7:00). Sunday finds the Wolf Pack back at the Civic Center, entertaining the Lowell Lock Monsters in a 4:00 game.
