Rewind: Friday, Lock Monsters 5 vs. Monarchs 3 The Lock Monsters scored three power play goals in the second period and held off a third period rally by Manchester to take the win. David Gove led the way with three assists in the game - his second three-point effort in eight days - and Vitaly Kolesnik stopped 31 shots for his 12th win of the year. Lowell improved to 3-1-1-1 against the Monarchs on the season.
Saturday, Bruins 2 vs. Lock Monsters 1, OT Former Lock Monster Sean Curry scored his first goal of the season late in overtime to lift the Providence Bruins to a 2-1 comeback victory over the Lock Monsters on Saturday night. Lowell took a 1-0 lead during the second period with a goal by rookie Nicolas Corbeil but couldn't hold on. Providence tied the contest with less than three minutes left in regulation, and Curry's tally capped the comeback.
Sunday, Sound Tigers 3 vs. Lock Monsters 2, OT On Sunday the Monsters earned a point with a late rally, but Jeremy Colliton scored just 17 seconds into overtime to take a 3-2 win over the Monsters. Bridgeport improved to 5-0 against Lowell on the season. Nicolas Corbeil scored for the second straight game, this time with 2:56 remaining in regulation to tie the game and send it into overtime.
Monsters Memos - Mike Zigomanis had his five-game scoring streak snapped on Sunday when he was held without a point. Zigomanis, had 2g-4a-6pts in his five-game stretch. - Nicolas Corbeil, an ECHL All-Star that signed a PTO with Lowell on Friday, scored the team's only goal on Saturday and registered the game-tying goal on Sunday with less than three minutes remaining in regulation. - The Lock Monsters three power play goals in the second period on Friday tied a franchise record for power play goals in a period. - D Danny Richmond was recalled by the Carolina Hurricanes for the third time this season on Saturday afternoon. He has appeared in eight NHL games this season. - C David Gove recorded three points for the second consecutive Friday last weekend with three assists in Manchester. He scored 2g-1a on Friday, January 6th in Norfolk. - The Lock Monsters have picked up at least a point in their last three games. It's the first time they've claimed a point in three straight contests since November 6th - 12th. - C Keith Aucoin's goal on Sunday was his first shorthanded point of the year. Eleven different Monsters have registered a shorthanded point and he's the sixth player to notch a shorthanded goal.

Coming Up: Lowell hosts a pair of games this week and also travels for two matches. On Wednesday, the Portland Pirates come to town for a 7:05 p.m. start, sporting the best record in the Atlantic Division. Lowell is 2-3-0-1 against the Pirates on the season.
Friday night the Monsters return to action looking for revenge on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The first 1,000 fans will get a Lock Monsters Static Sticker. Game time is 7:35 p.m. The Lock Monsters head to Springfield on Saturday (7:05 p.m.) and Hartford on Sunday (4:00 p.m.) to cap off the weekend.

CCM/Vector AHL Player of the Week Nomination Keith Aucoin Aucoin, the team's leading scorer by a 28-point margin, once again led the way this weekend for Lowell. He set up a pair of goals on Friday night in a 5-3 win at Manchester, and tallied another assist in Saturday's game on the team's only goal. Aucoin added a shorthanded tally on Sunday in a 3-2 overtime loss to Bridgeport to cap off his weekend.
