
Delmore and Hartigan Set New Franchise Marks

RECORDS ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN: Crunch defenseman Andy Delmore set a franchise record on Saturday night against Springfield by recording a point in his 15th consecutive game (4g, 23a). Delmore, an AHL All-Star, broke the mark of 14 consecutive games with a point held by Lonny Bohonos. Bohonos' streak was from January 13 - February 17, 1996 (15 goals, 8 assists). Delmore,29, has appeared in 31 games with Syracuse this season, recording 7 goals, 32 assists and 30 penalty minutes. Delmore has also appeared in five games with Columbus, without recording a point. In 281 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Nashville, Buffalo and Columbus, Delmore has tallied 43 goals, 58 assists and 105 penalty minutes. Delmore is tops in the AHL among defensemen with 39 points and 32 assists. Claimed off of waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets from the Detroit Red Wings on October 4, 2005, Delmore led all NHL defensemen in power play goals (14) and tied for the league lead among defensemen in goals (18) during the 2002-03 season. A native of LaSalle, Ontario, Delmore in 225 career AHL games with Fredericton, Philadelphia, Rochester and Syracuse, Delmore has 130 points (33g, 97a).
On Monday center Mark Hartigan extended his assist streak to 10 games (14a), setting a new Crunch franchise mark, previously held by Peter Schaefer (December 13-31, 1997). He is currently two games shy of tying Andy Delmore for the consecutive games with a point record at 15. Hartigan, 28, has appeared in 29 games with Syracuse this season, tallying 17 goals, 26 assists and 32 penalty minutes. In 11 games with Columbus this season, Hartigan has tallied one goal and six penalty minutes. In 223 career AHL games with Chicago and Syracuse, Hartigan has registered 86 goals, 108 assists and 266 penalty minutes. A native of Fort St. John, British Columbia, Hartigan was re-signed by Columbus on August 22, 2005. Hartigan continues to climb the Crunch's all-time lists, moving into fourth place with 11 game-winning goals. He is fourth with 28 power play goals, is fifth with 71 goals and is seventh with 148 points.
LINDSTROM EXTENDS STREAK TO SIX-GAMES: Left wing Joakim Lindstrom is getting in on the action as well, extending his point streak to six-games (7a) on Monday. Lindstrom has tallied 10 points (3g, 7a) in his last nine games, in contrast to the 10 points (3g, 7a) he tallied in his first 18 games with Syracuse this season. Lindstrom, 22, has appeared in 40 career AHL games, all with Syracuse, recording 10 goals, 18 assists and 20 penalty minutes. A native of Skelleftea, Sweden, Lindstrom was selected by Columbus in the second round, 41st overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft.
SZWEZ RECALLED BY SYRACUSE - CAMERON SIGNED TO P.T.O.: The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have recalled right wing Jeff Szwez from Dayton (ECHL) and have signed left wing Scott Cameron to a professional tryout contract.
Szwez, 24, has appeared in 29 games with Dayton this season, tallying 15 goals, 13 assists and 45 penalty minutes. A native of Etobicoke, Ontario, Szwez has appeared in 9 games with Syracuse, registering 3 goals, 2 assists and 11 penalty minutes.
Cameron, 24, has appeared in 35 games with Dayton this season, recording 16 goals, 25 assists and 31 penalty minutes. A native of Valley East, Ontario, Cameron appeared in 13 games with Syracuse during the 2003-04 season, recording four goals, three assists and six penalty minutes.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON (PITTSBURGH): Syracuse travels to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday, January 18 for the fourth of eight regular season games against the Penguins. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton leads the series 3-1-0 after defeating Syracuse 3-2 in their previous meeting on January 16 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Center Matt Hussey leads all players in head-to-head scoring with seven points (2g, 5a). Centers Mark Hartigan (1g, 2a) and Ben Simon (3a) and left wing Joakim Lindstrom (3a) lead all Crunch players with three points in head-to-head scoring. Goaltender Martin Prusek (0-1-0) appeared in the Crunch's most recent game against the Penguins, recording 18 saves. Penguins goaltender Dany Sabourin posted the win for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, stopping 37 Crunch shots. Lifetime, the Crunch are 30-21-7 against the Penguins.
CLEVELAND (SAN JOSE SHARKS): Syracuse hosts Cleveland this weekend at the War Memorial at Oncenter on Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21 for the third and fourth of six regular season games. The series is tied 1-1-0 after Syracuse beat Cleveland 4-3 in overtime on November 17 at the Quickens Loan Arena. Several Cleveland players are tied with four points a piece in head-to-head scoring. Right wing Brandon Sugden (1g, 1a) and defenseman Jeff MacMillan (2a) lead the Crunch in head-to-head scoring with two points. Goaltender Pascal Leclaire posted the win for Syracuse, stopping 31 shots. Cleveland goaltender Jamie Holden has appeared in both games. Lifetime, the Crunch are 20-13-1 against the Barons.

Coleman's âDinner and a Game' Program: The Syracuse Crunch announced the details of the Coleman's âDinner and a Game' program.
During the month of January any party that orders two (2) dinner entrees will receive a Crunch ticket voucher valid for two (2) tickets to a future Crunch home game of the customer's choice.

P&C Foods & Pharmacy âBring a Crunch Player to School' Program: The Syracuse Crunch announced the details of the P&C Foods & Pharmacy âBring a Crunch Player to School' program.
P&C Foods & Pharmacy and the Syracuse Crunch are teaming up during the 2005-06 season to encourage area school children to write an essay explaining why they would like a Syracuse Crunch player to visit their classroom.
Students can pick up entry forms at Syracuse area P&C Foods & Pharmacy and Syracuse Crunch home games. All essays must be dropped off at P&C Foods & Pharmacy or the Crunch office by February 4, 2006.
A panel of P&C Foods & Pharmacy executives and Crunch players will select ten (10) winning students from the submitted essays. Each of the ten (10) winning students will receive an appearance by a Crunch player in their classroom. In addition, each student in the class will receive a Crunch pennant and a snack from P&C Foods & Pharmacy.

Singles Night at the Crunch, January 20: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Lunch Appeal, announced that the Crunch's Friday, January 20 game against Cleveland will be Singles Night at the Crunch.
Prior to the Crunch's January 20 game, Lunch Appeal will hold a Single Mingle Hour from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Crunch Club, located in the basement of the War Memorial at Oncenter. Fans can participate in the night for $20, which includes one (1) ticket to that nights' game and two (2) drink coupons for Crunch Club use and access to the Single Mingle Hour. People that already have a ticket for the January 20 game, can participate for $10, which will include two (2) drink coupons for Crunch Club use and access to Single Mingle Hour. (Must be 21 or older to participate).

Celebrity Bartending Series Continues at Hafner's on January 24: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Labatt's, has announced that the Labatt's Celebrity Bartending series will continue on Tuesday, January 24 at Hafner's.
Crunch players Mark Hartigan, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and Darcy Verot will serve as celebrity bartenders at Hafner's from 5 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24. Hafner's is located on 5226 W. Taft Road, North Syracuse. Call 458-5108 for directions.

Celebrity Bartending Series Continues at Union Square on January 25: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Labatt's, announced that the Labatt's Celebrity Bartending series will continue on Wednesday, January 25 at Union Square Café.
Crunch players Tyler Kolarik, Jeff MacMillan and Ben Simon will serve as celebrity bartenders at Union Square Café from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25. Union Square is located at 238 Harrison Street, Syracuse. Call 426-9672 for directions.
Crunch Announce Details of Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year Program: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Time Warner Cable, introduced the Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year program to salute the hockey moms who dedicate their time and energy to taking their kids to hockey practices through all kinds of weather and at all hours.
During the 2005-06 season, youth hockey kids will be encouraged to nominate their mom as the Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year. The child must write an essay, up to 250 words, giving reason why their mom is Hockey Mom of the Year. The application can be mailed, emailed or dropped off at the Crunch office.
A panel of judges, including Crunch/Time Warner Cable management and Crunch players will select one (1) winner each month. Each monthly winner will receive four (4) tickets to a Crunch game, participate in a ceremonial face-off, a prize pack from Time Warner Cable and a post game tour of the locker room for up to four (4) people.
All winners will be eligible to win the Grand Prize, which includes a one (1) year membership to Gold's Gym, a spa gift certificate and dinner for two (2) to an area restaurant.

Crunch Announce Details of Advance Auto Parts Fan of the Year Contest: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Advance Auto Parts, introduced the Advance Auto Parts Fan of Year program to salute the loyal hockey fans who dedicate their time and energy following the Crunch.
Beginning November 7 and running through March 20, the Crunch will select one (1) fan as a finalist for the Advance Auto Parts Fan of the Year. Each of the twenty (20) finalists will be featured on the Crunch's official website (www.syracusecrunch.com), receive a "Best PART of the Crunch" t-shirt and a gift certificate to Advance Auto Parts.
A panel of judges, including Crunch/Advance Auto Parts management and Crunch players will select three (3) finalists from the twenty (20) featured fans. Crunch fans will then select the Advance Auto Parts Fan of the Year through in-arena and website voting.
The winner will be announced prior to the final home game of the season during an on-ice presentation.
